Sallaway Overview

This photograph has been found on the Queensland Digital Library (Photo published by Caloundra City Council.
Looking east down Maple St. from Cedar St. with Beech St. to the left. Cedar St. was also known as "Old School Hill" or "School Hill" as Maleny School was situated in this street. John Tytherleigh's store can be seen at the bottom of Maple St. on the left with the Co-Op store opposite - now Boxsell's (1994), below that on stilts is the first Maleny Butter Factory. The School of Arts Hall and Sallaway's Boarding House (built 1909) are next on the right from the Co-Op store. The big house on the left is "Rosedale" owned by A.C.K. Cooke built 1909, now the Maleny Guest Lodge (1994). Next two homes are those of W.Cambage and G. Armstrong.

Recollections of Samuel Atkins Sallaway

These are some pages that my uncle gave to my mother awhile ago, I do not know where they come from but it is certainly some interesting reading.
