He was created 1st Baronet Ayloffe, of Braxted Magna, co. Essex [England] on 25 November 1611. He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Stockbridge from 1621 to 1622.

He was invested as a Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1918.
