Lawrence Dundas, 1st Marquess of Zetland was born on 16 August 1844. He was the son of Hon. John Charles Dundas and Margaret Matilda Talbot. He married Lady Lillian Selina Elizabeth Lumley, daughter of Richard George Lumley, 9th Earl of Scarbroug h and Frederica Mary Adeliza Drummond, on 3 August 1871. He died on 11 March 1929 at age 84.
